Vincent C. Baker MBA, CMA
Vince, who grew up within earshot of the train yards in Rockingham, graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a BBA in 1979. After spending a year with Farmers Dairy in Production Accounting he returned to Saint Mary’s university to pursue his MBA, which he completed in 1983 with the publication of his thesis “A Capital Model for the Privatization of Nova Scotia Power Corporation – a Crown Corporation”
Vince accepted a position with NSPC in the summer of 1983 where he enjoyed a 15 year career in areas including; Corporate Planning, Finance and Marketing. During his tenure with NSP he completed the course of study necessary to obtain the professional Certified Management Accountant designation.
In 1998 Vince decided to pursue opportunities in the smaller entrepreneurial manufacturing sector in Nova Scotia. Where he provided the planning and guidance necessary to turn a small rural manufacturer of fiberglass lobster tanks into the leading supplier of specialty vehicle components for the US eastern seaboard.
During this time period, Vince was also involved in assisting several other Nova Scotian manufacturers, including two of his own companies, in successfully tapping into the US market.
Foreseeing the downturn in the US and Global economies Vince chose to look for other opportunities where he could apply his unique blend of marketing & finance skills to a growing local business.
Vince, Louise and son Dorian enjoy travel, boating and, thanks to Dorian’s substantial talent with the clarinet, classical music.
